Listening Assignments

  1. Developing and interest and appreciation for all music types through listening
    1. Students will be given cassettes or CD’s with a piece of music (jazz, classical, pop, rock) to listen to between lessons.  We will then discuss the music during lesson time in order to develop careful listening skills and exposure to new music that may have not been heard before.

Students will be encouraged to attend any of the free faculty recitals in the area. Parents are asked to support this as it allows for excitement and enthusiasm to grow in the student when one sees live music being performed.

Students will also be encouraged to bring in music of their own choosing, yet will be required to work within assigned courses as well.
